In this busy role, you'll leverage your mechanical expertise to ensure our fleet and machinery operate at peak performance, supporting construction, industrial, residential projects. Your hands-on skills will keep equipment running smoothly, minimize downtime, and contribute to the success of our operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery while honing your technical abilities in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing to extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment to identify root causes efficiently. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Service construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment to ensure safety and optimal functionality. Assist with heavy lifting and equipment assembly during maintenance or installation projects while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic; strong background in heavy equipment maintenance is essential. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues; familiar with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication tools necessary for repair work. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly; commitment to safety protocols at all times. Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics or related fields are highly desirable, but not mandatory.
