Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, including heavy machinery, construction equipment, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operations across various industries. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other vital components using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment as needed. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to suspension systems, steering components, HVAC systems, tires, and wheel alignments. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Assist in assembling new equipment or parts following OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations while maintaining detailed service records. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and construction machinery maintenance. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics with the ability to read schematics accurately. Skilled in equipment troubleshooting across various systems such as hydraulics, air brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and HVAC. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during repairs or testing procedures. Experience with fabrication techniques like welding and soldering is highly desirable. Familiarity with OEM parts and service manuals; certification in diesel engine repair or related fields is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients. Capable of performing heavy lifting safely using appropriate tools and techniques while adhering to safety protocols.
