Fleet and Driver Manager Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Master Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and industrial machinery. Your expertise will ensure our fleet and equipment operate safely and efficiently, supporting our ongoing commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using schematics and specialized tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Inspect and service vehicles and equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance; including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, alignment adjustments, HVAC systems, and shocks & struts. Read technical manuals and schematics accurately to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Support team members with heavy lifting tasks and assist in equipment assembly or repair projects as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Diesel technology, heavy-equipment maintenance, or automotive technology training from a technical school is highly beneficial. Or 5+ years of experience. Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and suspension. ASE certifications, particularly the Heavy Truck, School Bus, Transit Bus, or Medium/Heavy Truck Equipment areas a plus. CDL required Skills & Competencies Proven dealership experience with heavy machinery repair highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Expertise in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, or similar industrial machines. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
