Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, from heavy machinery to service trucks, contributing directly to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using OEM schematics and electronic diagnostic tools. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, and alignment adjustments to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Repair and fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to restore equipment functionality. Service a variety of heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, farm machinery, and industrial equipment to maximize uptime. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on diesel engines and other heavy equipment by interpreting schematics and technical manuals. Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures when necessary while adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and communicate effectively with team members and customers about repair status and recommendations. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in dealership or industrial settings. Hands-on experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or farm machinery. Strong knowledge of OEM parts specifications and ability to read schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems. Skilled in using diagnostic software and electronic testing devices for automotive diagnostics. Familiarity with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications. Experience performing brake repairs, wheel alignments, suspension work, HVAC servicing for vehicles or machinery is highly desirable. Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while working with power tools or during equipment repairs.
