Job Description

Job Overview This position is for a dependable, experienced mechanic who can diagnose, repair and maintain trucks and heavy equipment with minimal supervision. This is not an entry-level or parts-only role. You will be expected to be organized and maintain a clean workspace along with setting up and organizing shop inventory. You will be expected to keep maintenance schedules and records. You will be working under our lead mechanic who will train you in. Once fully on-boarded you will serve as the primary on-site mechanic at the Redi-Mix Shop, working under the guidance of our Lead Mechanic. There will be times when you will be required to work on equipment at a job-site or outdoors.
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs Must have at least 3 years diesel mechanic experience Must be organized, honest and reliable Communication skills and people skills are a must - you will be working with other employees Familiarity with diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulics Preferred Experience (Not required): welding or fabrication CDL Fleet or Owner-Operator shop experience DOT inspection familiarity
Work Environment:
You'll be working at our Redi-Mix Shop location supporting a real working fleet. No Corporate layers or dealership politics. Expectations are clear and consistent with a focus on quality and accountability. You will be working in the shop running and maintaining equipment along with unexpected break- downs that need to be fixed asap. You will work along side other employees and truck drivers. We expect a respectful atmosphere to be maintained. Equipment you can expect to work on:
Mixer Trucks Dump Trucks Semi Trucks Grain, Lowboy, Scrap, Step Deck, & Tanker Trailers Loaders, Skidsteers, Excavators, Bulldozers, Washplant Shop Trucks and Small Equipment/Tools Tools:
We have a variety of tools currently at our shop but if you have your own toolbox that you would like to bring to lock after your shift ends, that is a bonus.
Schedule & Pay:
This is a full-time, weekday position with Saturdays and pour-days being on-call/available in the summer months. Competitive pay based on experience and skill level that can be discussed during the interviewing process.
