Job Description
Job Summary:
Diesel mechanic wanted for large shop. Must have own tools, experience with diesel engines is preferred. We are willing to train the right mechanically inclined candidate. All applicants must have experience maintaining running lights, tires, and preventative maintenance on 18 wheeler. Knowledge of electrical diagnostics is a plus! Experience with Kenworth, Freightliner, & Peterbilt is preferred. Pay will be based on experience. All applicants must have knowledge and experience in large vehicle/farm equipment to be considered. Full time hours, weekly pay, benefit package available and includes health, dental, life & supplemental insurance, PTO and 401k with company match.Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and tire rotations
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on diesel vehicles and equipment
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify any potential issues or malfunctions
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems and make necessary repairs
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed to complete repairs
- Perform alignments, dig adjustments, and crane operations as required
- Repair or replace air brake systems or any other faulty parts such as pistons, valves, bearings or gears
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and industrial equipment
- Familiarity with electrical systems in diesel vehicles
- Ability to fabricate or modify parts as needed
- Experience with air brake systems is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing repairs
