Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Are you an experienced mechanic who enjoys hands-on repair work and working around heavy equipment? Penmac Staffing is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Maintenance Mechanic for a local metal scrap yard. This position is ideal for a dependable, self-motivated individual with experience working on diesel trucks, conveyor systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding repairs.

RequirementsExperience working on diesel trucks and heavy equipmentKnowledge of conveyors, head pulleys, and tail pulleysWelding experience and repair skillsAbility to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systemsMechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and safelyComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsResponsibilitiesThis position supports daily operations by ensuring trucks, equipment, and machinery remain in safe working condition.

Duties include:

Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel trucksChange tires, oil, filters, and other components as neededTroubleshoot and repair electrical systems on heavy equipmentDiagnose and repair hydraulic systemsInspect, maintain, and repair conveyor systems, including head pulleys and tail pulleysPerform welding and fabrication repairs as neededConduct preventative maintenance on trucks and equipmentAssist with equipment breakdowns and emergency repairsMaintain a safe and organized work environmentComplete additional duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsThis position requires frequent physical activity, including:
