Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and hardworking Lot Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing semi-trucks for service, transport, or delivery, performing trailer repairs and maintenance, and completing minor mechanical repairs on semi-trucks. The ideal candidate has mechanical experience, takes pride in quality work, and is comfortable working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Prepare semi-trucks for service, transport, or delivery. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trailers. Complete minor mechanical repairs on semi-trucks. Inspect equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Communicate repair progress, equipment status, and maintenance needs with supervisors. Assist with other shop and yard duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in mechanical repair, trailer repair, diesel maintenance, or a related field preferred. Basic knowledge of semi-truck and trailer maintenance. Current certifications in Cummins, Meritor, PACCAR, Eaton, and DOT inspection/maintenance are required. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while also contributing as a team member. Dependable with excellent attendance and a strong work ethic. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Working Conditions Position is performed primarily outdoors. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Regular exposure to grease, dirt, dust, and shop equipment. Overtime may be required based on business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to safely perform physical labor associated with vehicle and trailer inspections and repairs.
