Job Description
Third party recruiters are not needed to fill this position. Job Summary ZA Construction is seeking an experienced Diesel mechanic to work on all company equipment and vehicles. This employee must be willing to work Monday - Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. While most work is performed in the shop, this employee may be required to work at a field location which may require overnight travel (transportation provided). Salary is commensurate with experience. Duties/Responsibilities Monday - Friday and Saturday as needed Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, gas engines and small engines Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary. Takes necessary measures to ensure effective performance. Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts. Orders and installs replacement parts for machines. Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines. Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently. Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies. Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Minimum of 1 year heavy equipment/semi-tractor-trailer truck service experience. Must be highly dependable and available for emergency calls. Applicant will be required to conduct a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Class A CDL License (Preferred) Required Skills/Abilities Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. Works well independently and with others. Good communication skills. Organized with attention to detail. Prolonged periods standing and walking. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. Must be able to visually inspect machines. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
