Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a dependable, experienced mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of garbage trucks and related equipment. This position is responsible for keeping trucks safe, reliable, and ready for daily routes. Job Duties Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain garbage trucks and other company vehicles. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filters, brakes, tires, fluids, and preventive maintenance. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air brake systems, and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot and repair garbage truck bodies, compactors, cylinders, pumps, hoses, PTO systems, and related hydraulic equipment. Perform DOT inspections and make necessary safety repairs. Respond to truck breakdowns and make road/service calls when necessary. Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance. Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized. Monitor trucks for upcoming maintenance and identify problems before they cause breakdowns. Order or notify management of parts and supplies needed for repairs. Follow all company and workplace safety procedures. Qualifications Experience working on diesel trucks, heavy equipment, or garbage trucks preferred. Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brakes. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs with minimal supervision. Must have a valid driver's license. CDL Must have reliable attendance and be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to lift heavy parts, climb underneath trucks, and work in outdoor conditions when necessary.
