Job Description

Duties:
Diesel Mechanic
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to Detroit and Cummings engines.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as shocks, struts, and other suspension parts.
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on tractor-trailers and heavy equipment.
  • Utilize power tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Fabricate and solder parts as needed.
  • Operate heavy equipment as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and answering questions.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic in a dealership or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, including experience with Caterpillar engines.
  • Strong knowledge of suspension systems, including shocks, struts, and other related components.
  • Familiarity with tractor-trailers and heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to use power tools and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
