Job Description
Duties:
Diesel Mechanic- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to Detroit and Cummings engines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as shocks, struts, and other suspension parts.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on tractor-trailers and heavy equipment.
- Utilize power tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Fabricate and solder parts as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment as required.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and answering questions.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic in a dealership or similar environment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, including experience with Caterpillar engines.
- Strong knowledge of suspension systems, including shocks, struts, and other related components.
- Familiarity with tractor-trailers and heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to use power tools and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
