Full-time Dewey's Diesel & Tire is looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. This position is for a technician with strong hands-on experience working on medium- and heavy-duty trucks who can diagnose problems and complete repairs independently . We are looking for someone who knows the trade, takes pride in their work, and can be trusted to diagnose and repair trucks correctly and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on diesel trucks Perform engine diagnostics and repairs Engine tear-down and rebuild work when needed Clutch replacement and repair Transmission removal and installation Fuel and emissions system diagnosis and repair Air brake diagnosis and repair Suspension, steering, and king pin repairs Driveline and differential repairs Hydraulic system diagnosis and repair Preventive maintenance and inspections Trailer repair Use diagnostic software, wiring diagrams, and service information Properly document repairs and parts needed Qualifications Applicants should have professional diesel/heavy-duty truck repair experience and be capable of working independently. We are specifically looking for someone with: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with diesel engines and major mechanical repairs Electrical diagnostic experience Knowledge of air brake, fuel, and emissions systems Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools Ability to diagnose the cause of a failure instead of simply replacing parts Own basic hand tools Valid driver's license Dependable attendance and strong work ethic ASE certifications are a plus but are not required if you can demonstrate the necessary experience and skill. Compensation $35.00-$40.00 per hour, based on experience and ability. At this pay level, we are looking for an experienced technician who can be given a truck with a problem, properly diagnose it, determine the correct repair, and complete the job without constant supervision. Pay:

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Application Question(s): A diesel engine cranks normally but will not start. What are the first things you would check, and in what order? A truck has an active low fuel-rail-pressure fault and loses power under load. Walk us through how you would diagnose the problem before replacing any parts. A truck repeatedly has a "low air pressure" warning even though the air compressor is building pressure. What components or systems would you inspect to determine the cause? A truck comes in with an intermittent electrical problem that has already had several parts replaced without fixing the issue. How would you approach diagnosing it? A customer reports an active aftertreatment/DPF fault and the truck will not successfully complete a regen. What information would you look at with your diagnostic software before deciding what needs to be repaired or replaced?
