Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel/Gas Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and construction machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, utilize your mechanical skills, and contribute to the seamless operation of our fleet and equipment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, air brake inspections, and equipment lubrication to maximize lifespan and performance. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements or enhance equipment functionality. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues accurately. Perform vehicle systems repairs for automotive electrical systems, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, and vehicle maintenance for trucks used by drivers. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive heavy equipment mechanic background with a strong understanding of diesel/gas engine repair. Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding; skilled in using power tools and hand tools for precise repairs. Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately; strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems. Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques; capable of performing tire service and suspension repairs safely. Knowledge of hydraulics systems repair; adept at troubleshooting powertrain issues such as transmissions and engine components. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly; service technician experience is a plus.
