Job Description

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position Summary A successful candidate will maintain and service trailers, liftgates, and reefer units. They will also conduct brake checks, brake replacements, liftgate repairs, reefer repairs and federal inspections. Key Responsibilities Maintain trailer fleet for optimal uptime Service and repair Reefer units Inspect and replace brake shoes as needed Inspect and replace trailer tires Complete yearly Federal inspections on trailer fleet Service and repair liftgates Maintain and service the switcher truck fleet Other duties as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of common hand tools Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as on team initiatives Clear verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of air brake systems Experience working on diesel engines Experience or willing to be trained driving a switcher pulling a 53' trailer Hydraulic system experience 12 and 24 volt electrical experience a plus Job Setting & Physical Demands This position is primarily in a trailer shop environment but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility. Candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
