Overview Shop / Field Service Technician - Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mondak Equipment & Hose Mondak Equipment & Hose is hiring an experienced Shop / Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, forklifts, oilfield equipment, hydraulic systems, aerial equipment, and other industrial machinery. This is not a parts-changing position. We are looking for a technician who can diagnose problems, think through failures, and make repairs correctly . Our technicians perform a combination of shop work and mobile field service. Because much of the equipment we service cannot easily be transported, a significant amount of work is performed at customer locations. What You'll Work On Equipment may include: Forklifts and material-handling equipment Construction equipment Class 5-8 trucks and trailers Oilfield and drilling equipment Railcar movers and industrial equipment Aerial lifts and bucket trucks Diesel and industrial engines Hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and systems Electrical and electronic control systems Air brake and pneumatic systems Preventive maintenance and inspections No technician is expected to know every machine we encounter. What matters is having a strong mechanical foundation, good diagnostic ability, and the willingness to research and solve unfamiliar problems. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and engine-related problems Perform repairs in the shop and at customer locations Use diagnostic software, electrical meters, pressure gauges, and other test equipment Troubleshoot equipment rather than replacing parts unnecessarily Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Repair hydraulic hoses and hydraulic components Complete accurate service documentation Record the complaint, cause, and correction for each repair Take appropriate photos and document findings Communicate clearly with customers and company personnel Maintain an organized service truck, tools, and work area Help identify needed parts and provide accurate information for parts ordering Follow company safety procedures Perform quality work without unnecessary downtime Field Service Expectations Field technicians generally travel directly from home to the first scheduled customer rather than reporting to the shop first.

Technicians are expected to:

Arrive at the scheduled customer location on time Manage their service vehicle and tools responsibly Minimize unnecessary trips for parts or supplies Communicate schedule changes promptly Make productive use of time while waiting for equipment access, parts, or customer direction Maintain a professional appearance at customer locations Treat customer property and equipment with respect Some overnight travel may occasionally be required depending on the repair and customer location. Qualifications Preferred experience includes one or more of the following: Heavy equipment technician Diesel technician Truck technician Forklift technician Agricultural equipment technician Oilfield equipment technician Hydraulic technician Industrial maintenance technician Mobile field service technician Strong candidates should have experience with several of the following: Diesel engines Hydraulics Electrical troubleshooting CAN/data-link diagnostics 12V and 24V electrical systems Air brakes Powertrains Mechanical repair Welding and fabrication Diagnostic software Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit, John Deere, Deutz, Perkins, Kubota, Allison, PACCAR, forklifts, aerial equipment, or similar equipment is helpful but not required. Depending on the equipment being serviced, technicians may have access to systems such as Cummins INSITE, Detroit DiagnosticLink, PACCAR DAVIE4, International ServiceMaxx, Allison DOC, Bendix ACom, WABCO Toolbox, Nexiq diagnostic hardware, and additional manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic systems. We also have specialty hydraulic, machining, testing, and repair equipment that allows us to complete work that many general repair shops cannot. Compensation Pay is based on experience and capability. Higher compensation is available for technicians who can independently diagnose and repair complex equipment. Overtime opportunities may be available depending on workload.
