Diesel Mechanic (A-Level)

Freehold, NJ Schedule:
Full-Time Mon-Fri 6:00am-4:00pm, Sat 6:00am - 1pm (Night shift also available)
Pay Rate:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Temp-to-Hire Position Overview We are seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who can independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities and be comfortable working with computer-based diagnostic systems. Our shop is a full-service repair facility servicing tractors, trailers, refuse trucks, and off-highway equipment. We work on a variety of industry-leading brands including Peterbilt, Mack, Freightliner, and Caterpillar equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. Utilize laptop-based engine and vehicle diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. Diagnose and repair truck chassis and engine electrical systems. Troubleshoot and repair vehicle HVAC systems. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Repair and maintain braking, suspension, steering, hydraulic, and drivetrain systems. Accurately document repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used. Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred. Must have your own tools. Experience using laptop-based engine and truck diagnostic software. Knowledge of truck chassis, engine electrical systems, and electronic controls. Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems on heavy-duty vehicles. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently Garbage/refuse truck experience is a plus. Experience working on Peterbilt, Mack, Freightliner, and Caterpillar equipment is highly preferred. Must have a clear background and drug screening. Must be authorized to work in the United States. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
