Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems on-site. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, and equipment inspections to maximize operational uptime. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Fabricate or modify parts using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or enhance equipment performance. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers during maintenance procedures or testing phases. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance recommendations. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Requirements Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a solid understanding of diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation—including excavators, cranes, forklifts—and farm machinery or industrial equipment. Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical systems repair, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle alignment. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for repairs and fabrication tasks. Ability to lift heavy components safely during tire service or equipment maintenance tasks; physically capable of heavy lifting throughout shifts. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with vehicle mechanics for truck drivers is a plus.
