Job Description

West Chester Machinery & Supply Co. and S.P.A. Safety Systems are seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining, repairing, and building a wide variety of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and specialized equipment used in the construction, municipal, utility, and highway safety industries. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy diagnosing mechanical problems, and want to work on unique equipment that goes beyond typical truck repair, we'd like to hear from you.
Primary Responsibilities and Familiarization include:
Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks. Install, service, and repair snow plows, spreaders (salters), and winter maintenance equipment. Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair hi-rail vehicles and rail gear systems. Diesel engine repair Transmissions Brake systems Suspension and steering components Hydraulic systems Electrical systems Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs) Arrow Boards Scissor Lift Trucks Utility and Rack Body Trucks Message Boards Lighting and warning systems Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Perform inspections and preventative maintenance. Complete daily work orders and maintenance documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Be punctual and prepared for work each day. Work overtime when required during busy seasons. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Training is available for the right person and for those willing to learn new skills. Hourly compensation will be based on skill level. Safety is a must.
