Job Description
Heavy Duty/Diesel Mechanic | Full-Time | South River, NJ A well-established third-generation commercial asphalt paving company, operating since 1989, is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join their team in South River, NJ. This is a full-time opportunity for a hands-on mechanic with experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment used in asphalt paving operations. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, with previous experience working on asphalt paving equipment, heavy diesel machinery, and related vehicles. This role requires someone who can independently troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, and help keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy diesel equipment, including loaders, backhoes, rollers, bobcats, and attachments. Perform maintenance and repairs on asphalt paving equipment and other heavy construction machinery. Repair gas and diesel-powered vehicles and small equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems. Perform independent diagnostics and mechanical repairs as needed. Qualifications Heavy equipment and asphalt paving equipment experience required. Previous diesel mechanic experience required. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid New Jersey Driver's License and reliable transportation required. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Schedule & Benefits Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. Overtime after 40 hours.
