Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems on various heavy machinery and vehicles. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing. Utilize schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently. Conduct fabrication and welding tasks to repair or modify construction machinery components as needed. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to facilitate repairs or testing procedures safely. Maintain accurate service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and quality assurance. Assist with assembly, disassembly, and replacement of parts using power tools and hand tools while adhering to safety protocols. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with a strong background in construction machinery maintenance or industrial equipment repair. Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and specifications. Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical knowledge across various machinery types. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other construction machinery is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in diverse environments; excellent customer service skills are a plus for client interactions. Certification or training in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, or electrical systems is desirable but not mandatory.
