Field Service Mechanic -
Pump & Diesel Equipment Location:
Carlsbad, NM Job Type:
Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a Field Service Mechanic to join a growing team specializing in pump systems, dewatering, and fluid management equipment. This position is responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and diesel-driven equipment both in the shop and in the field. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined technician who enjoys problem-solving and working with a variety of equipment in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and inspections on equipment and vehicles Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on pumps and related equipment Disassemble and reassemble equipment using hand tools and hoisting equipment Repair or replace worn and damaged components Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including rewiring as needed Test and verify equipment performance after repairs to ensure proper operation Perform light fabrication work as required Maintain accurate service records and documentation Manage parts inventory and order components as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Communicate professionally with customers when required Qualifications 2+ years of mechanical experience (or equivalent hands-on experience) Experience with diesel engines, pumps, or heavy equipment preferred Familiarity with diagnostic/service software (e.g., CAT, Cummins, John Deere) is an asset Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage workload priorities Solid communication and customer service skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality work What's Offered Competitive compensation (based on experience) Full benefits package including: Health, dental, and vision coverage Retirement plan with company match Life and disability insurance Paid time off Potential tuition assistance Additional Information This is a safety-sensitive role requiring adherence to all safety standards Compensation and title may be adjusted based on experience
