Job Description

Afternoon Diesel Mechanic McNabb Services, Inc.
Schedule:
2:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., with additional hours as needed Position Summary McNabb Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Afternoon Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vacuum trucks, transport trucks, pump trucks, oil haulers trailers, pickups, and related equipment. Qualified applicants should have experience working with Cummins, Detroit, and PACCAR engines . Prior vacuum truck experience is strongly preferred. This position includes both shop and fieldwork, depending on operational needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment. Perform oil changes, brake repairs, and other routine maintenance. Troubleshoot engine, electrical, air-conditioning, turbo, and other mechanical problems. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT annual inspections. Diagnose and complete moderately complex mechanical repairs. Maintain accurate service and inspection records. Respond to field service calls when assigned. Safely operate a forklift and/or service truck when needed. Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized. Work effectively under both direct and indirect supervision. Promote safety through all decisions, actions, and work practices. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor. Qualifications At least two years of diesel engine repair experience preferred. At least two years of mechanical experience preferred. Experience with Cummins, Detroit, and PACCAR engines required. Vacuum truck knowledge or experience strongly preferred. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be dependable and able to work the full afternoon/evening schedule. Current Class A CDL preferred but not required. Forklift and service truck experience preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
