Job Description
Job Summary Now in our second generation of operations, Astro/Giaquinto Masonry is one of New York's largest commercial masonry contractors and suppliers. We have built our business by working speedily and efficiently, dedicating sufficient manpower and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure projects are completed on or before schedule. We have worked with some of the area's most trusted and respected construction and architectural firms, building schools, retail stores, government agencies and more. We are looking for a career driven mechanic who is interested in learning in a fast paced environment from skilled experts with heavy diesel machinery and multiple types of small engines Essential Functions of the job include (but are not limited to):
- Repair and maintain telehandlers, front end loaders, skidsteers, forklifts, manlifts, diesel and gasoline engines by performing all regular scheduled maintenance and repairs including fluid and filter changes wheel seal inspection and replacement, pinion seal inspection and replacement
- Perform brake jobs, starter replacement, turbo inspection and replacement, and diagnostic troubleshooting
- Repair and maintain hydraulics. maintains engines/diagnoses trouble, disassembles used to power machinery by using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools
- Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gear, valves, and bushings using engine lathes, boring machines[hand tools, and precision measuring instruments Ideal candidates will possess:
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals
- Have a strong diesel/gasoline mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and able to work independently
- Experience working in a trucking terminal environment, using maintenance record keeping
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous diesel experience required.
