Gilco Trucking and Service Center Location:
La Fargeville, NY Join Our Team! Gilco Trucking and Service Center is looking for a dependable, experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in La Fargeville, New York. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy solving mechanical problems, and want to work in a well-equipped shop with a supportive team, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and trailers. Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections. Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems. Use OEM diagnostic software as well as OEM Service Information to accurately identify faults and complete repairs. Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Keep accurate service records and communicate repair needs clearly. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Qualifications Experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician preferred. Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software, including Cummins INSITE , Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink (DDDL) , and
PACCAR DAVIE4
, is strongly preferred. Ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical, engine, aftertreatment, and emissions system issues using manufacturer diagnostic tools. Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and truck maintenance. Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs independently. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus but not required. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment. Experience with / Certification in MVAC systems (EPA Part 608) preferred but not required NYS Inspection License preferred but not required What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience.
