In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered buses and heavy equipment to ensure optimal safety, reliability, and performance. Your expertise in heavy vehicle systems and mechanical repair will contribute directly to keeping our fleet running smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of heavy machinery and automotive systems in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections of diesel buses, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and other mechanical components. Diagnose issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes of malfunctions. Repair or replace faulty parts such as shocks & struts, air brakes, wheel alignments, transmissions, and vehicle electrical systems. Conduct fabrication and welding tasks for custom repairs or modifications on heavy equipment and bus components. Maintain and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment as needed. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to perform repairs efficiently. Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as proper vehicle maintenance procedures and heavy equipment operation protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and vehicle electrical systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques for trucks, buses, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks. Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex repairs. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and equipment maintenance practices. Knowledge of air brake systems, alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement, tire service and HVAC systems is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail; capable of performing heavy lifting safely. Valid certifications related to heavy truck repair or diesel engine repair are a plus; relevant certifications in automotive electrical system repair or hydraulics are beneficial.
