We're looking for a mechanic who takes pride in keeping an entire fleet safe, reliable, and on the road. At Upstate Transit of Saratoga, your work directly impacts the communities we serve every day. The buses you maintain transport students, families, and community members who depend on safe, reliable transportation. This is an opportunity to do more than repair vehicles. You'll help lead a maintenance program, mentor fellow technicians, solve complex mechanical challenges, and play a critical role in the success of our operation. What You'll Do Plan and implement a preventative maintenance program for the fleet. Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, and specialty vehicle systems. Perform repairs involving engines, transmissions, brakes, drivetrains, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and exhaust systems. Conduct complete DOT and safety inspections. Respond to emergency roadside service calls. Order parts, manage inventory recommendations, and maintain records. Mentor and support other technicians. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles, heavy equipment, buses, or commercial vehicles. Valid Driver's License. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Class A or B CDL preferred (training available for the right candidate). School bus or fleet maintenance experience preferred. Physical Requirements Lift up to 75 pounds.
