Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to assemble parts, repair components, and fabricate custom solutions when necessary. Troubleshoot equipment issues through detailed inspections and testing procedures to identify root causes quickly and accurately. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, tire service, brake repairs, alignment adjustments, and heavy lifting operations to uphold safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and update schematics for future reference. Support customer service efforts by communicating clearly about repairs needed and providing expert advice on equipment care. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership or industrial background preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge paired with electrical diagnostics skills for automotive repair and heavy equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; ability to interpret technical manuals accurately. Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication techniques, HVAC systems servicing, tire service operations, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. Knowledge of OEM parts specifications along with experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions; excellent problem-solving skills are a must.
