Job Type:
Full-time Austin Parts and Service is looking for an experienced, dependable Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our growing service team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing quality work, can diagnose problems accurately, and wants to be rewarded for strong performance. The right candidate will work on a variety of heavy-duty trucks in a busy, team-oriented shop. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks Perform brake, suspension, steering, electrical, air-system, and preventive-maintenance repairs Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems accurately Complete repairs correctly and efficiently Perform inspections and identify additional safety or repair needs Communicate repair findings clearly to the shop foreman Work with the parts department to identify needed parts Complete repair orders and document work performed Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized Follow all company procedures and safety standards Work as part of a team to keep customer vehicles moving Qualifications Heavy-duty diesel repair experience preferred Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities Knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and air systems Ability to work independently and complete jobs on time Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn Strong attention to detail Must provide your own basic mechanic's tools Valid driver's license requiredCDL, ASE
