$25- 30 per hour plus performance bonuses
Job Type:
Full-time Austin Parts and Service is looking for an experienced Lead Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic / Shop Foreman to lead our service department and work alongside our technicians. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands heavy-duty trucks, can diagnose difficult problems, provide excellent customer service, and keep a busy shop organized and productive. We need a leader who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and sets a high standard for quality. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks Lead, support, and hold shop technicians accountable Speak directly with customers about their vehicles, concerns, and repair needs Provide friendly, professional customer service Schedule repair work and manage the daily shop calendar Assign jobs based on technician skill level and shop priorities Provide customers with repair updates, recommendations, and completion timelines Monitor jobs to ensure they are completed correctly and on time Help technicians diagnose difficult mechanical and electrical problems Review completed work for quality and accuracy Coordinate with the parts department to ensure needed parts are available Keep the shop organized, safe, clean, and productive Maintain accurate repair documentation Train and develop less-experienced technicians Lead by example with a positive, solutions-focused attitude Qualifications Strong experience repairing heavy-duty trucks Leadership or shop-management experience preferred Strong customer-service and communication skills Comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities Knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, air systems, and preventive maintenance Ability to schedule work, prioritize repairs, and manage multiple jobs Dependable, organized, and professional Must provide your own basic mechanic's tools Valid driver's license required CDL and certifications are a plus but not required Compensation $25- 35 per hour , based on experience and ability Performance bonuses Consistent, full-time work Opportunity to lead and help grow an established company Pay advancement based on performance and responsibility Tool allowance About Austin Parts and Service Austin Parts and Service has served the Akron community and the heavy-duty trucking industry since 1925.
