Job Description

A growing mobile fleet maintenance operation is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician in Mentor, OH to provide on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for commercial fleets throughout Northeast Ohio. Ideal candidates bring proven diesel diagnostic, electrical troubleshooting, and commercial fleet experience. Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, fleet inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Diagnose diesel and gas engine issues, electrical problems, and related vehicle concerns using scan tools and diagnostic tools. Repair brakes, steering, suspension, and other mechanical systems to keep fleet vehicles safe and reliable. Perform trailer maintenance and repairs along with mobile roadside service when needed. Complete repairs at customer facilities and fleet yards throughout Northeast Ohio. Complete digital work orders, inspections, and repair documentation while communicating professionally with fleet customers.
Requirements Required:
3+ years of diesel, commercial fleet, truck, or heavy-equipment repair experience. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience using scan tools and diagnostic tools. Ability to work independently in a mobile service environment and communicate professionally with fleet customers. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to complete a pre-employment criminal background check. Must provide personal hand tools. Available for roadside on-call work and occasional Saturday half-days during peak periods as customer needs require.
Preferred:
5+ years of diesel, commercial fleet, truck, or heavy-equipment repair experience. ASE certifications, CDL, DOT inspection experience, or previous mobile fleet experience. Experience with air brakes, trailers, hydraulics, liftgates, or welding. #PJ1
Compensation:
$20.00 - $45.00/hour based on experience and qualifications Stable hourly pay with no flat rate Overtime paid after 40 hours/week Company-provided mobile service truck with company-paid fuel
