Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, supporting operations across construction sites, industrial facilities, and transportation services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver top-tier service. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems on heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to maximize equipment lifespan. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, schematics for heavy equipment operation, and control systems. Repair and maintain industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, mixer trucks and other heavy machinery ensuring compliance with safety standards. Assist with assembly and disassembly of complex machinery components during repairs or upgrades. Conduct vehicle inspections for preventative maintenance programs; identify issues early to prevent costly breakdowns. Utilize heavy lifting techniques safely when handling large components or equipment parts; operate power tools efficiently during repairs. Communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance advice to managers or team members. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems. Hands-on experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, industrial equipment, mixer trucks, and automotive diagnostics. Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts repair. Skilled in automotive repair techniques including brake repair, tire service, assembly/disassembly of mechanical parts. Familiarity with electrical systems in heavy machinery; ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely; strong understanding of heavy lifting protocols. Use of hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment while providing outstanding customer service.
