We are located in north Salem / Brooks area. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure our fleet and machinery operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery and heavy-duty vehicles, in a fast-paced environment that values precision and proactive service. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as tractors, trailer trucks, and other industrial machinery. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment components. Execute routine vehicle maintenance including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, and fluid checks to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform wiring repairs or replacements as needed to support vehicle operation. Ensure all work complies with safety standards related to hydraulics, air brakes, heavy lifting procedures, and other industry regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Skills Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic in an industrial setting. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize service manuals effectively for troubleshooting complex systems. Excellent mechanical aptitude combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repairs. Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing maintenance tasks in various environmental conditions. Join us if you're passionate about keeping heavy trucks running smoothly!
