Job Description

Diesel Techs:
Do you ever pull into the parking lot in the morning... and just hesitate there for a second? Not because you're tired. Not because you're lazy. Because somewhere between clocking in and clocking out... it stopped meaning something. You know your way around a Powerstroke. You can diagnose a Duramax problem before most guys even hook up a scanner. You show up. You do the work. You do it right. And it's still not enough. Maybe it's a boss who doesn't know what you know... and doesn't want to hear it. Maybe it's the politics. The favoritism. The feeling that no matter how good you are... you're just another body in a bay. Or maybe the shop's fine. The pay is okay. But deep down you know you're worth more. And you've been telling yourself you'll do something about it "eventually." Here's the thing. Eventually has a way of never showing up. That's exactly why we're writing this. Rodney Weaver built Durastroke Mechanical from the ground up. One bay. One truck at a time. Right here in Lancaster County. Nine years in, they're one of the most trusted diesel shops in the region... running on word-of-mouth alone... And growing fast enough that they're moving into a bigger building. Rodney's not looking for a warm body to fill a bay. He's looking for a diesel tech who cares. Someone who takes pride in clean work, wants to be part of a tight-knit team, and wants to work for an owner who actually knows what's under the hood. So, if that sounds like the shop you've been waiting for… then keep reading. ✅
HERE'S WHAT DURASTROKE BRINGS TO THE TABLE
$50,000 - $70,000/year based on experience Year-end bonus potential for the right person Paid holidays... including the standard ones plus Good Friday and Ascension Day PTO — negotiable based on your situation Uniforms provided Monday - Friday only. Your weekends are yours. Full stop. ✔
YOU WILL ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOU STAND
— No guessing games. No playing favorites. If there's an issue, Rodney handles it one-on-one, directly and respectfully... before it becomes a bigger problem. Everything is above board. ✔
THIS IS A TECH-OWNED SHOP
— Rodney started turning wrenches at 17. He knows what's under the hood, what it takes to do the job right, and what it feels like to be on your side of the bay. You'll have a boss who can actually support you... not just manage you. ✔
YOU WILL NOT BE MICROMANAGED
— Rodney tells you what the truck needs and gets out of your way. He'll swing by to check in and share what he knows... but nobody's hovering over your shoulder. ✔
YOU WILL BE APPRECIATED
(OPEN
DOOR POLICY
) — This is a small, family-oriented shop where the owner is on-site every day. Your opinion matters here. If something's not working, you can say so. ✔
NO DRAMA
— Life's too short to work somewhere toxic. This is a tight-knit team where people genuinely get along... and customers actually come out to the shop just to shoot the breeze. That says everything about the culture. ✔
WE WILL KEEP YOU BUSY
— Durastroke has doubled sales in the last two and a half years... and they're still growing. Word-of-mouth alone keeps the bays full. You won't be watching the door waiting for the next job to roll in. ✔
YOU WILL BE A PART OF SOMETHING GROWING
— They're moving into a bigger building. Sales are climbing. The team is expanding. The tech who comes in now gets to grow with the shop... not just maintain it. ✔
WE PROVIDE A SAFE AND PRODUCTIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
— Uniforms provided. Up-to-date diagnostic tools and equipment. And a new facility coming that's going to make everything run cleaner and smoother. ✔
WORK-LIFE BALANCE
(GET
YOUR LIFE BACK
) — Monday through Friday. Your evenings are yours. Your weekends are yours. And you get Good Friday and Ascension Day off on top of standard paid holidays... because Rodney actually respects that there's more to life than the shop. ✔
LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT
— Rodney bought one of his guys a Snap-On toolbox just to keep him around. That's not a perk... that's a statement. This is a shop that invests in the people who show up and do the work. ✅
HERE'S WHAT WE STAND FOR AND HOW WE TREAT OUR CUSTOMERS
✔ 4.8 STAR
GOOGLE RATING
— Customers drive nearly an hour to bring their trucks to Durastroke. Not because it's convenient... because it's worth it. That kind of loyalty doesn't happen by accident. It happens when you do the job right, communicate straight, and treat people like people. But don't take our word for it... See what our customers have to say: https://share.google/kqryB7H3bMzJwT4St
ABOUT DURASTROKE MECHANICAL
Durastroke Mechanical is one of Lancaster County's most trusted diesel repair shops... and it was built on nothing but hard work and a reputation for doing things right. Rodney Weaver started with one bay on his family's 30-acre property nine years ago. No big marketing budget. No fancy launch. Just quality work, straight communication, and customers who kept coming back and bringing their friends. Today Durastroke specializes in diesel pickups and heavy-duty engines... Powerstroke, Cummins, Duramax, Detroit, Cat, and more. Sales have doubled in the last two and a half years. A bigger facility is already in the works. And the team is growing. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a shop that's doing things the right way... and building something worth being part of.
SKILLS AND TRAITS THAT HELP YOU SHINE IN THIS ROLE
3+ years of experience in a professional repair facility Diesel experience strongly preferred ... Powerstroke, Cummins, or Duramax knowledge is a real plus Comfortable with service work , inspections, brakes, R&R transmissions, and tire work Pennsylvania State Inspection license is a plus. .. but not a dealbreaker You show up on time , do the work right, and don't need someone standing over your shoulder You're honest, reliable , and take pride in what you do You fit in a conservative , family-oriented workplace where character matters as much as skill Valid driver's license and your own tools NOW… this isn't the right fit if you need constant hand-holding, bring drama into the shop, or cut corners when nobody's looking. BUT… if you're the kind of tech who does it right whether the boss is watching or not... Rodney wants to meet you.
