Sunoco is looking for an experienced diesel mechanic to join our team. If you have experience maintaining and repairing heavy trucks and trailers and take pride in keeping equipment safe and reliable, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
As a diesel mechanic, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing tractors, trailers, and delivery equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot major vehicle components and systems Perform preventative maintenance and repairs Maintain diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and air systems Service electrical systems, differentials, suspensions, and clutches Perform maintenance on tires, axles, wheels, fifth wheels, and cabs Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Perform occasional road service Complete state and federal vehicle inspections Coordinate shop repairs and preventative maintenance schedules Work with and oversee outside repair vendors
Requirements:
At least 3 years of heavy truck and trailer maintenance and repair experience High school diploma or GED Working knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, air systems, electrical systems, and other heavy-duty components Experience in working with parts and service vendors Experience maintaining vehicle records and preventative maintenance schedules Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL A) with hazmat and tanker endorsement or be willing to obtain them within one year of hire Work With a Trusted American Brand Sunoco is a recognized American brand with a long history of innovation, quality, and teamwork.
