Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including construction machinery, farm machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support our operational goals. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and hand tools. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot complex equipment issues utilizing advanced electrical diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes efficiently. Fabricate parts or modify existing components as needed using welding, cutting tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Maintain accurate service records detailing repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each piece of equipment serviced. Assist in heavy lifting operations and perform tire services or wheel alignments to keep machinery operating at peak performance. Support the safe operation of heavy equipment during repairs or testing while adhering to all safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in heavy equipment servicing is essential. Skilled in automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic systems, welding, fabrication, and schematics interpretation. Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy-duty equipment. Familiarity with OEM parts and service procedures for Caterpillar or similar brands; experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is a plus. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or excavators safely during repair processes. Proficient with power tools, hand tools, soldering techniques, HVAC systems related to vehicle comfort controls, and tire service tools. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with a focus on safety standards. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide outstanding customer service when interacting with clients or vendors.
