Charter America is seeking an experienced Charter Bus / Motorcoach Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of commercial passenger vehicles. We are specifically looking for a mechanic with hands-on experience working on Prevost, MCI, and Ford vehicles . Candidates should be comfortable independently diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and performing repairs on heavy-duty diesel coaches. Required Experience Prevost motorcoach experience MCI motorcoach experience Experience servicing and repairing Ford commercial vehicles Strong experience with Detroit Diesel engines Strong experience with Cummins diesel engines Experience diagnosing and repairing commercial/heavy-duty transmissions Experience with electrical and electronic troubleshooting Must have appropriate diagnostic equipment/tools and know how to properly use diagnostic software and scan tools Ability to accurately diagnose problems rather than relying solely on parts replacement Prior professional experience maintaining charter buses, motorcoaches, or similar heavy-duty commercial vehicles Responsibilities Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, air, brake, suspension, and HVAC-related issues Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled fleet services Troubleshoot check-engine lights, warning systems, fault codes, and electrical problems Diagnose Detroit and Cummins engine issues Diagnose transmission and drivability concerns Perform pre-trip/post-repair inspections as needed Identify developing mechanical problems before they result in roadside failures Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, parts, and services performed Help keep the fleet safe, reliable, DOT-compliant, and ready for service Respond to occasional urgent repairs or breakdowns as needed Qualifications Prior motorcoach/heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience required Experience with Prevost and MCI strongly required Detroit and Cummins experience required Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Must have appropriate professional tools and diagnostic capabilities Knowledge of commercial vehicle electrical, air brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems Ability to work independently and complete repairs efficiently Valid driver's license and reliable transportation CDL is a plus ASE or other diesel/heavy-duty certifications are a plus

Pay:

$30.23 - $45.00 per hour
