These are primarily mobile positions serving Phoenix and surrounding communities within approximately a 70-mile radius of Phoenix. Applicants must have their own reliable work vehicle suitable for mobile service assignments. Our work includes advanced diagnostics, maintenance, major repairs, and engine repair and replacement. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves, and related components. Diagnose and service vehicle air-conditioning systems within your qualifications and applicable certification requirements. Perform preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs. Complete major repairs and engine repair or replacement assignments within your demonstrated capabilities. Perform welding and related repair work safely and professionally. Take on equipment, trailer, generator, and RV repair assignments that match your experience and qualifications. Identify needed parts and document diagnoses, repairs, and job progress. Communicate clearly with customers and the 1836 HD team. Maintain safe work practices and protect customer vehicles and equipment. Required Qualifications Diesel technician certification. At least 3 years of professional diesel/heavy-duty field experience. Hands-on hydraulic diagnostic and repair experience. Hands-on vehicle A/C diagnostic and repair experience. Hands-on welding experience. Welding certification is preferred but is not required. Your own reliable, work-qualified vehicle suitable for mobile repair services. Ability to travel to assignments throughout Phoenix and surrounding areas within approximately a 70-mile radius. Ability to troubleshoot independently and complete quality repairs in the field. Dependability, accountability, and professional customer communication. Preferred Experience — Strong Pluses, but Not Required Experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing any of the following is a strong plus: Heavy equipment and construction machinery. Commercial trailers, including mechanical, electrical, braking, and suspension systems. Agricultural equipment, tractors, and farm machinery. Generators and auxiliary power systems. RVs and motorhomes, including chassis, leveling systems, and RV house systems. Broader repair experience will be considered when determining starting pay and matching assignments to your capabilities. Work Vehicle and Mobile Service Requirements You must provide your own work vehicle. It must be reliable, suitable for the assignments you perform, and capable of safely transporting the tools, equipment, and parts needed for mobile service. Your vehicle and equipment setup will be reviewed before work begins. Vehicle operating expenses, fuel, travel compensation, and equipment requirements will be discussed and agreed upon before you accept the position. 90-Day Evaluation and Long-Term Opportunity Every position begins with a paid 90-day evaluation of technical skills, workmanship, reliability, communication, and overall fit.
