Job Description

Diesel Field Technician Location:
Remote / Field-Based (Customer Sites) / Sour Lake, TX You are the face of the nation's leading mobile fleet service provider with an expertise in meeting partners wherever they are. Our client is the primary partner for the top commercial distributors in the United States. They eliminate the need for brick-and-mortar shops by bringing high-tier diagnostic power directly to the customer. Equipped to handle any fleet, their expert teams work across the country with some of the largest commercial distributors in the U.S. This role is for the technician who prefers the independence of the open road and the challenge of a different "shop" every morning. Your Impact on the Fleet You are the solution for partners who cannot afford to have an asset sitting in a bay for three days. When a heavy-duty truck or trailer fails on a job site or at a distribution hub, you arrive with the diagnostic software and tools to fix it on the spot. By executing precise mobile repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and air systems, you keep the supply chain moving. You are responsible for identifying the root cause of failures, performing the repair, and documenting the results to ensure every vehicle meets strict DOT safety standards. The Environment and Scale You operate from a specialized service vehicle that is a mobile diagnostic center. You are managing the uptime for some of the most massive commercial fleets in the country, including vehicles that haul thousands of tons of cargo daily. You handle everything from complex aftertreatment (DEF) issues to hydraulic system failures in the field. This is an environment for the self-sufficient professional who thrives on variety and is comfortable using OEM technical manuals and scan tools to solve problems in real-time without shop supervision. The Future of Your Career Your growth is tied to your technical sovereignty; the more you master, the more complex the projects you lead. This is a path toward senior field leadership or specialized technical consulting. Our client provides access to the latest emerging diagnostic technologies and OEM updates, ensuring your skills remain at the top of the market. As you prove your ability to handle high-stakes roadside recoveries and intricate electrical diagnostics, you become an essential asset in their national service network. What You Bring 2+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician, with a focus on heavy-duty truck and trailer repair. Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, HVAC, and drivetrains. Proficiency with diagnostic software and scan tools to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues. The ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting directly with customers. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a mobile or field service role. Advanced understanding of truck electronics and emission control systems. Proven track record of conducting high-quality DOT inspections and preventive maintenance.
