Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of construction machinery, industrial equipment, and transportation vehicles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, utilize advanced diagnostics, and contribute to the smooth operation of our fleet and equipment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other key components using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify machinery as needed. Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, suspension, HVAC systems, tire service, and alignment to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed in compliance with safety standards. Assist with equipment assembly and disassembly for repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Support heavy lifting operations and perform routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, heavy equipment operation, and farm machinery servicing. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex equipment issues. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication tools. Knowledge of OEM parts specifications and experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is a plus. Ability to perform tire service, brake repair, air brake systems maintenance, suspension alignment, HVAC repairs, and hydraulic system troubleshooting. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
