Job Description
Mobile Service Truck Technician / Mechanic BEST is GROWING! We have exciting new opportunities that have been opened up in our Fleet Maintenance Department! We are now hiring for Mobile Service Technicians! The main responsibility in this role will be to travel to customer's sites to safely and efficiently maintain a varied fleet of equipment associated with our company. As a Mobile Service Technician, you will work a flexible, DAY SHIFT schedule during the normal workweek. This is a full time position, traveling to different areas of the Triad performing servicing and preventative maintenance on our equipment. Check out the job description, below: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Make various adjustments, alignments and repairs to correct any vehicle deficiencies Conduct inspections, test drives and diagnostic tests to determine the condition of the vehicles Test engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with federal and state vehicle requirements Record services and repairs to maintain accurate vehicle records Complete preventative maintenance, install part upgrades, winterize vehicles and control corrosion to keep vehicles available Follow operating instruction, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventative maintenance and call for repairs to keep shop equipment operational Place orders and keep stock of inventory to ensure necessary supplies at hand Collaborate with coworkers to get repairs done in a timely manner Stay up to date on industry advances by reading publication, talking with peers, continuing education and joining industry-related forums Electrical repair and diagnostics Educational / Experience Requirements Must have thorough knowledge and experience with DOT and OSHA regulations and reporting requirements. Mechanical aptitude Experience in troubleshooting and repairs involving the most recent technology Electrical repair and diagnostics Knowledge of FMCSA maintenance guidelines and regulations General knowledge of preventative maintenance for Class 8 Tractor Trailers CDL is preferred Basic computer skills Prior trucking experience a plus
