In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of delivery vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance in the terminal and on the road. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, enabling efficient operations and excellent service delivery. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on Step Van gas and diesel engines, including engine performance, transmissions, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to extend vehicle lifespan. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Fabricate or modify vehicle components as needed using welding, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational requirements. Repair heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and farm machinery that may be part of the fleet or operational assets. Maintain detailed service records and logs for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Assist with equipment maintenance beyond vehicles including HVAC systems, industrial equipment, and other mechanical systems integral to operations. Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy trucks or fleet vehicles; dealership experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle systems repair—including transmissions, suspensions, brakes—and diesel engine repair. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus. Familiarity with schematics and electrical troubleshooting related to automotive electrical systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools for vehicle assembly or repair tasks. Experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is advantageous. Ability to lift heavy components safely during tire service or equipment repair; excellent customer service skills are also valued for interactions with internal teams.
