Job Description

Leading intermodal trucking company in the Southeast is seeking an experienced diesel technician in Columbia, SC . If you are a self-starter that is able to work independently then we would like to discuss an opportunity within our company. If interested send us your resume. Job Duties Ability to diagnose vehicle condition by performing inspections and diagnostic testing. Perform preventative maintenance that adheres to our strict schedule. Corrects deficiencies by adjusting and/or replacing defective parts that are part of the drive train, electrical, air conditioning, fuel emission, brakes, steering, engine, etc. Knowledge in warranty procedures by evaluating issues that arise within the truck and equipment. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing replacement orders, and receiving and verifying against receipt. Updates technician job knowledge by becoming involved in education opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications and performing online training. Taking charge of the shop in making sure that It is a safe and clean environment. Ability to learn new operating software for the tucks as well as for data entry for the RO's, warranty claims, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with Management, Terminal Manager, Drivers and Vendors. Skills and Qualifications On job experience and/or technical certificate/degree from an accredited school. Owns tools that would be necessary in performing work that is required. Ability to operate the following, but not limited to Cummins Insite, Davie 4, Bendix ACOM, ESA, Service Ranger 4, etc. Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test and background check. 1 year experience with CMV truck and trailer repair.
