You'll utilize your mechanical expertise to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure optimal performance of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and air brake inspections to keep equipment operating smoothly. Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on heavy machinery like excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial equipment. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures. Assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery components ensuring proper fitment and alignment for optimal operation. Maintain detailed service records and logs for all repairs performed while adhering to safety standards and quality control procedures. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Service Technician or similar role within a dealership or heavy equipment environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and brake repair. Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, HVAC components, welding techniques, soldering processes, and power tools usage. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicle components. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or similar machinery is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Certification in automotive repair or diesel technology is preferred; dealership experience is a plus.
