Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, including electrical systems, air brakes, hydraulics, and transmissions using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire services, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and alignment checks to keep equipment in peak condition. Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction machinery including forklifts, loaders, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, cutting, soldering, and power tools to ensure proper fit and function. Assemble new equipment or repair existing units by following detailed schematics and technical manuals while adhering to safety standards. Test repaired machinery through operational checks and road tests; perform heavy lifting when required for component replacement or assembly. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety regulations and OEM standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in heavy equipment servicing is essential. Extensive knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial equipment. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics troubleshooting, HVAC systems for heavy machinery, and schematics interpretation. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools necessary for complex repairs. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with OEM parts is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of performing heavy lifting safely. Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems, suspension alignment, tire service or related fields are advantageous. Excellent communication skills with a focus on safety procedures; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
