We are looking for an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Technician to join our team in Amarillo, Texas. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery. We are looking for someone who is mechanically strong, can troubleshoot problems without needing constant direction, and takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and operational. Equipment You Will Work On Our fleet and equipment includes: Excavators Wheel loaders Skid steers Forklifts Heavy-duty diesel trucks Heavy equipment and gooseneck trailers Industrial shredders Hydraulic equipment Various other industrial and facility equipment Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine the proper repair Repair and replace hydraulic hoses, cylinders, pumps, fittings, and related components Diagnose electrical and charging/starting system problems Perform repairs on trucks, trailers, brakes, suspension, and related components Perform welding and fabrication repairs on heavy equipment, trailers, attachments, and industrial machinery Repair cracks, brackets, mounts, guards, and other steel components as needed Fabricate or modify components when necessary to complete repairs Safely use welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs Inspect equipment and identify problems before they become major failures Keep work areas organized and maintain equipment in a safe operating condition Assist with emergency or unexpected equipment repairs when necessary

Requirements:

Qualifications Previous heavy equipment, diesel, agricultural, industrial, or fleet mechanic experience preferred Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability Experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems Ability to diagnose basic electrical problems Welding and fabrication experience required Ability to perform common heavy-equipment welding and repair work Experience with MIG and/or stick welding preferred Ability to safely operate cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools Must be dependable and able to work independently Must have a valid driver's license Must be able to safely lift, climb, bend, and work around large equipment
