Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered vehicles and trailers. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, utilize advanced diagnostic tools, and contribute to the seamless operation of our fleet and machinery. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other mechanical components using schematics and specialized equipment. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, suspension checks, and alignment adjustments to maximize equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex issues on heavy equipment including trucks with engines such as Cummins, Paccar, Detroit, and trailers like belly dumps and super dump trucks. Repair or replace faulty parts utilizing hand tools and power tools to restore optimal performance. (Must have own tools) Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed. Adhere to safety standards. Support heavy lifting operations. Be willing to change tires. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic preferred; strong background in heavy equipment maintenance is essential. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair techniques. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics including electrical systems troubleshooting and schematic interpretation. Skilled in mechanical repairs involving transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and tire service. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. (must have own tools) Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information and issues that may arise clearly to team members. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
