Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines, industrial equipment, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and equipment inspections to prevent future issues. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure optimal equipment performance. Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems involving hydraulics, HVAC systems on heavy trucks, shocks & struts, and vehicle electrical systems for both trucks and farm machinery. Assist with assembly of new equipment or components and perform heavy lifting safely during repairs or installations. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance needs. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership or industrial background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and the use of various hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety standards related to air brake systems, heavy lifting techniques, tire service, and equipment maintenance protocols.
