Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles, equipment, machinery and plant are in optimal working condition contributing to the overall productivity of our operations. This requires the ability to manage time and make repairs according to priority. Must have a flexible mind set and willing to work in various weather conditions.
Requirements:
Experience with concrete mixers, rock haulers and tankers a must (bonus if you have front end loader and skid steer experience) High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred Basic tools, required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including: Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work, required Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
Valid Driver License Required Responsibilities:
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties Performs standard vehicle maintenance Performs standard component inspections and repairs Performs preventive maintenance Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required Replaces defective components as instructed Performs facility maintenance duties Interacts with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task Be able to utilize computer to document workorders Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles as well as plant equipment Perform service calls when needed and be able to get our drivers/trucks back to the plant safely Keep workspace and or shop neat safe and clean Skills Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mechanical repair. Previous experience in a mechanic role is preferred but not mandatory.
