Skidabrader Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Fort Worth, Texas facility. This is primarily an in-house/shop-based position responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of diesel trucks, construction equipment, and heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on diesel mechanical experience and the ability to independently troubleshoot and repair a variety of vehicle and equipment systems. Essential Job Functions Under general supervision, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, construction equipment, and heavy machinery. Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. Use diagnostic equipment and vehicle computer systems to identify equipment and vehicle issues. Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs. Estimate labor time, identify required parts and materials, and request replacement parts as needed. Perform repairs in accordance with established repair standards and procedures. Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and complete identified repairs. Perform safety inspections and verify that vehicles and equipment are safe and operational. Accurately document repairs, parts usage, maintenance performed, and repair time in the company's fleet maintenance system. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established maintenance procedures. Respond to occasional emergency service calls or field breakdowns when necessary. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years of relevant diesel mechanic or heavy equipment maintenance experience. Experience working with diesel engines, heavy trucks, construction equipment, or heavy machinery. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. CDL preferred, but not required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other equipment necessary to perform repairs. Work Environment & Travel This position is based at Skidabrader's Fort Worth facility and works primarily in-house Monday through Friday. Occasional travel to project locations may be necessary to assist with unexpected equipment or vehicle breakdowns. Overnight or extended travel is not a routine requirement of this position.
