Position Summary Fleet Watch is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for performing diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment at customer locations throughout the Houston and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, self-motivated, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in a mobile service environment. This role requires strong diagnostic abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service while minimizing customer downtime. Location:
Preference will be given to candidates located in Katy, TX. Occasional regional travel to service customers across major Texas cities may be required. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 5-8 trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, driveline, brake, suspension, charging, starting, and emissions-related systems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues. Utilize OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot vehicle and equipment malfunctions. Complete repairs including but not limited to brakes, batteries, alternators, starters, injectors, clutches, transmissions, differentials, cooling systems, fifth wheels, and related components. Conduct DOT and safety inspections and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action. Accurately document inspections, diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, labor hours, and recommendations through Fleet Watch's service management platform. Maintain service truck inventory and ensure adequate stock levels of parts, tools, and supplies. Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment. Respond to customer inquiries regarding repairs, maintenance recommendations, and equipment condition. Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance and additional services that improve fleet reliability and reduce downtime. Maintain a professional appearance and represent Fleet Watch positively at customer locations. Participate in ongoing technical training and stay current on OEM updates, repair procedures, and industry best practices. Support after-hours emergency roadside service and rotating on-call schedules as needed. Perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies and industry standards. Other duties as required. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel technician for Class 5-8 vehicles commercial vehicles and equipment Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a field service environment Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals Experience using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software and scan tools Must own and maintain a complete set of hand tools necessary to perform heavy duty diesel maintenance and repair duties. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical examination Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions Preferred Qualifications CDL Class A or B ASE Certifications

Certification Brake Inspector Certification OEM certifications from manufacturers including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, PACCAR, International/Navistar, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Hino, Isuzu, and Ford Experience with diagnostic platforms including Cummins INSITE, Detroit
DDDL, CAT
ET, JPRO, Volvo Tech Tool, Allison DOC, Bendix ACom, WABCO Toolbox, Navistar NED, DAVIE4, and SD. Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
